The “Internet Survivors Drinks” merges with Open Coffee Club Brussels
The “Internet Survivors Drinks” co-organised by Patrick De Schutter of ContactOffice will merge with the Brussels Open Coffee Club.
More info below:
Indeed, we propose to merge the Survivors with another internet network group, to create the leading network for internet entrepreneurs & addicts in Belgium. This merger will allow us to join the 259 Survivor members and the 127 members of the Open Coffee Club, under the new shared entity: Open Coffee Club in Brussels (OCC).
What will change? In fact, not that much, except that you will be able to meet a fresh group of interesting internet people. The original idea of organizing non-official, informal and non-sponsored gatherings of people, will be maintained. In fact, the Open Coffee Club movement has exactly the same premise. OCC originally started in London, where entrepreneur and investor Saul Klein wanted to establish recognized, open and regular meeting places where entrepreneurs could meet with investors (and anyone else who fancies coming along) in a totally informal setting. The OCC movement quickly expanded to other cities and countries (more than 70 locations already and counting). Robin Wauters, an independent social media consultant and blogger for Blognation organized the first meetups in Brussels.
From now, we will co-organize the monthly gatherings, together with Robin. Please register on Meetup.com to sign up as a member, which will enable you to easily RSVP for future events. This registration is (of course) free of charge, and will allow us to notify you of upcoming events.
The next event will take place on Thursday 6 September 2007, at Café Belga (Place Flagey Plein).
We hope you appreciate our intention of keeping the “Survivors Drinks” alive and kicking, and give it a new “schwung” in a bigger constellation. We hope the get-togethers will continue to help you expand your network, exchange ideas with peers, create alliances and rethink business models!
If you have any question or remark, please don’t hesitate to contact us!
