IT|Redux Announces Second Office 2.0 Conference
Every Attendee to Receive an Apple iPhone
Office 2.0 Conference 2007
SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–IT|Redux, New Rules for a New IT World, today announced the launch of the second Office 2.0 Conference to take place at the St. Regis Hotel in San Francisco, CA, on September 5-7, 2007. The Office 2.0 Conference is a collective experiment aimed at discovering the future of mobile productivity and collaboration. It is a unique gathering of visionaries, thought leaders, and customers using innovative online services for getting things done at the office, at home, and on the go.
“Office 2.0 2006 was one of the best conferences I have ever attended in my 20 years’ experience in the high tech industry. Why? Because there was a special magic in the air that we were all on the ground floor of something BIG,” said Susan Scrupski, Chief of Applied Research at BSG Alliance. “I just cannot wait for this year’s edition.”
Following last year’s success of the inaugural Office 2.0 Conference, the organizers are expecting 500 to 750 attendees coming from over 20 countries. Each attendee will receive an Apple iPhone to be used during the conference, making it one of the largest experiments for mobile and real-time collaboration ever attempted. Using applications developed by Etelos exclusively for the event, participants will be able to wirelessly exchange contact information with attendees and exhibitors, schedule meetings with each other, and provide real-time feedback during sessions. The conference’s facility will also provide a scalable WiFi network that will offer access to any online application, leveraging the full power of Apple’s device.
“Office 2.0 is at the center of what drives adoption of Web-based applications for business,” said Danny Kolke, Etelos CEO. “As users discover new ways to work with the Web, productivity increases and so does satisfaction. This is about redefining the future of work. We’re proud to be sponsoring this conference as a way to show users that the future of online productivity is in their hands.”
This year’s conference will feature over 100 speakers and include four parallel tracks: the Enterprise 2.0 Track will address the opportunities and challenges created when deploying Office 2.0 technologies within a corporate environment; the Mobility and Productivity Track will focus on the end user; and two Demo Tracks will present the applications of 60 to 75 vendors. The conference will also host a Mobility Area and a SoHo Area that will showcase innovative devices for online collaboration and productivity.
“The Office 2.0 Conference is a truly unique event entirely organized using online applications,” said Ismael Ghalimi, event producer. “This year, we’re pushing the envelope a step further by going 100% paperless and equipping every single attendee with Apple’s wonderful iPhone. What will be learned from this large scale experiment should provide some unique insight on what online technologies are making possible today.”
The Office 2.0 Conference is sponsored by Etelos, Fenwick & West, ThinkFree, WebEx Communications, BEA Systems (NASDAQ:BEAS), Caspio, Coghead, Google (NASDAQ:GOOG), Intalio, Jive Software, SAP (NASDAQ:SAP), Zoho, 3TERA, CentralDesktop, Cogenz, ConnectBeam, ContactOffice, Diigo, EchoSign, EditGrid, Huddle, iNetOffice, Jotlet, Persony, ServePath, ShareMethods, SiteKreator, Smartsheet.com, Spresent, TIBCO Software (NASDAQ:TIBX), TimeBridge, Veodia, and Vyew.
